Jiancong Xu

Patent Agent

Jiancong Xu is a patent agent in the firm's San Diego office. Jiancong has a combined background of biology, chemistry and computational modeling that provides her with comprehensive skill sets required for handling complex technologies across multiple disciplines. She has extensive knowledge and experience in preparing and prosecuting U.S. and foreign patent applications in areas including biologic therapeutics, gene therapy, oncology, genomics, bioinformatics, as well as chemicals, pharmaceuticals, material science, and nanotechnology. She also counsels on due diligence, and freedom-to-operate and patentability analyses.

Jiancong earned her Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry from the University of Utah, where her research was largely directed toward the development of theoretical and computational chemistry methods for studying biomolecular systems. After graduation, she worked as a postdoctoral research fellow at DOE BioEnergy Center in Oak Ridge National Laboratory.
