Dickinson Wright PLLC is pleased to announce the election of 16 new member attorneys of the firm, effective January 1, 2020.
“This year’s class of new members represent a diverse range of practices and offices,” says Michael Hammer, CEO of Dickinson Wright. “Each attorney brings an incredible set of qualities and skills that they have developed over their legal career. Below is Dickinson Wright’s new member attorneys for 2020:
Andrea Arndt is a Member in the firm’s Troy office. She practices all aspects of intellectual property law, including litigating and prosecuting patents, trademarks, trade secrets, and copyrights. Ms. Arndt also specializes in foreign patent prosecution and intellectual property law in the fashion industry. She holds a chair position on the Michigan Intellectual Property Association and is a member of the Michigan Intellectual Property Inn of Court and the Royal Oak Chamber of Commerce. Ms. Arndt is licensed in Michigan and Wisconsin and is registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office. She studied Computer Engineering at the University of Michigan and received her B.S. in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin and her J.D. from Marquette University Law School.
Philip Aubry is a Partner in the firm’s Toronto office. His practice includes advising domestic and foreign public and private companies on a wide range of corporate matters, including cross-border deals, mergers and acquisitions, equity capital markets, reorganizations, partnerships, joint ventures and general corporate matters. He advises publicly traded and privately held companies on corporate and securities-related matters, including cross-border public and private offerings of debt, equity, convertible and hybrid securities, stock exchange listings, corporate governance issues and periodic reporting obligations under securities law. He is a member of both the Ontario and Quebec bars. Mr. Aubry received his B.Sc. (Hons), Business Administration, from the State University of New York at Potsdam, his J.D. and his LL.L in Civil Law from the University of Ottawa.
Tracy Bergeron is a Partner in the firm’s Toronto office. She represents employers in workplace safety and insurance, human rights, and other employment and labor law matters including pay equity, health and safety, alleged employment standards breaches and labor disputes and conducts workplace investigations related to workplace harassment and violence complaints. Her combined educational and professional experience uniquely enables her to comprehensively advocate on behalf of employers in respect of employees with complex disability issues. She is a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada, the Canadian Bar Association, the Ontario Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the Essex Law Association, and the Canadian Association of Counsel to Employers. Ms. Bergeron received her B.A. and M.A. from Laurentian University and her LL.B. from the University of Windsor School of Law.
Bradley Burns is a Member in the firm’s Phoenix office. He focuses his practice on commercial and business litigation. He represents municipal corporations, product manufacturers and special-purpose governmental units in litigation claims, business and municipal matters, negotiation of contracts and general corporate and employment matters. He is a member of the State Bar of Arizona, the Maricopa County Bar Association, the Federal Bar Association, and the American Bar Association. He is recognized as a leader in his field by Southwest Super Lawyers Rising Stars. Mr. Burns received his B.A. from the University of Arizona and his J.D. from Arizona State University’s Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law.
Sahar Cadili is a Partner in the firm’s Toronto office. She is a commercial litigator with a focus on shareholder disputes, oppression cases, injunctions, breaches of contract, as well as disputes over real and personal property. Sahar also practices estates litigation and has extensive experience in will challenges, power of attorney disputes and trustee accounting. She served for three consecutive terms on the Ontario Bar Association Civil Litigation Section Executive, is a member of the Advocates Society, the Ontario Bar Association and the Manitoba Bar. Ms. Cadili received her B.A. from York University and her J.D. from the University of Saskatchewan.
Steven Caloiaro is a Member in the firm’s Reno office. He is an intellectual property litigator. He has substantial experience in all phases of patent litigation, including fact and expert discovery, claim construction, summary judgment and appellate briefing. He also helps clients navigate proceedings before the United States Patent and Trademark Office. He is a member of the American Intellectual Property Law Association, the Washoe County Bar Association, and the Reno-Tahoe Young Professionals Network. He is recognized as a leader in his field by Mountain State Super Lawyers Rising Stars and Nevada Business Legal Elite. Mr. Caloiaro was also named as one of Northern Nevada’s top 20 individuals under 40. Mr. Caloiaro received his B.A. from the University of Nevada, Reno and his J.D. from the University of San Diego School of Law.
Jennifer Stallings Dewey is a Member in the firm’s Detroit office. Her practice includes a wide variety of transactional work with a focus on franchise, distribution and unfair competition. She has experience representing small and large companies in all aspects of business including financing, mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance and general business matters. Colin Ferguson is a Member in the firm’s Nashville office. He provides counsel to business entities and individuals in corporate, real estate and financing transactions. His clients range from startups to higher education institutions and publicly-traded companies. He is a member of the Tennessee Bar Association, the Nashville Bar Association, the International Council of Shopping Centers, the National Association of Industrial and Office Professionals, and the Urban Land Institute. Eric Gregory is a Member in the firm’s Troy office. His practice is focused primarily in the areas of ERISA, employee benefits, and executive compensation. He advises clients on all aspects of employee benefits including qualified retirement plans, welfare plans, and nonqualified compensation programs. He regularly provides advice to plan administrative and investment committees on fiduciary compliance, has advised buyers and sellers on benefit due diligence and benefit transition issues in the mergers and acquisitions context, has successfully challenged tens of millions of dollars in proposed assessments made under the “pay-or-play” provisions of the Affordable Care Act, and has counseled employers with respect to multimillion-dollar withdrawal liability allegations. He is a member of the Tax Council of the State Bar of Michigan Taxation Section, is a past chair of the Employee Benefits Committee of the Taxation Section, and is a past chair of the Oakland County Bar Association’s Employee Benefits Committee. James Martone is a Member in the firm’s Troy office. His practice focuses on a broad range of commercial litigation services. Nolan Moody is a Member in the firm’s Lansing office. He represents clients in complex commercial litigation matters, including matters involving fraud, breach of fiduciary duty, breach of contract, negligence, tortious interference, and a host of other statutory and common law causes of action. Mr. Moody is a trial lawyer. He has successfully represented clients in a variety of forums including state courts across the Midwest, numerous federal district courts, arbitration, and administrative law hearings. He also practices regularly at the Michigan Public Service Commission. Mr. Moody is a member of the State Bar of Michigan, the Ingham County Bar Association, and the Federal Bar Association for the Eastern District of Michigan. Ian Nesteruk is a Member in the firm’s Phoenix office. He practices in the area of immigration law, representing corporate and individual clients in connection with non-immigrant employment-based visas, immigrant employment-based visas, and family-based immigration. He has experience in a range of non-immigrant employment-based classifications including H, TN, E, O and P visas. His immigrant employment-based experience is primarily in the technology industry and includes recruitment-based cases, outstanding researcher and extraordinary ability petitions, and national interest waivers. He is a member of the State Bar of Arizona and the American Immigration Lawyers Association. Mr. Nesteruk received his B.A. from the University of Michigan and his J.D. from Arizona State University’s Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law.
Jeremy Schirra is a Member in the firm’s Columbus office. He focuses his practice on real estate and corporate matters. He represents investors and developers in all stages and aspects of real estate projects from acquisition to disposition, including joint venture agreements, operating agreements, easements, reciprocal use agreements, leases, service and licensing agreements and other matters. He also represents lenders and borrowers in a variety of capacities, including on bridge, mezzanine, construction and permanent loans. He also has significant experience in tax credit (HTC, LIHTC and NMTC) and opportunity zone incentivized transactions. He is a member of the Ohio State Bar Association. Mr. Schirra received his B.B.A. from Ohio University, his J.D. from Case Western Reserve University School of Law and is also a Certified Public Accountant (Ohio).
Parker Sinclair is a Member in the firm’s Columbus office. He combines his prior business and public policy experience to deliver pragmatic and effective results for public and privately-held companies across a wide range of industries, including technology, healthcare, manufacturing, energy, real estate and cannabis. Parker regularly counsels clients on buy-side and sell-side M&A transactions, venture capital financings, commercial contracts and corporate governance matters. Franklin Smith is a Member in the firm’s Troy office. He is a patent attorney with extensive experience in patent, trademark, and copyright acquisition, licensing, enforcement and defense, with broad knowledge of new procedures provided for the American Invents Act. His background in interdisciplinary engineering, including mechanical, civil, materials science, atmospheric oceanic and space science, and computer science engineering, make his skills applicable to a wide range of intellectual property technologies. He is a member of the American Intellectual Property Law Association, the Michigan Intellectual Property Law Association, and the American Bar Association. Mr. Smith received his B.S. from the University of Michigan and his J.D. from Western Michigan University Thomas M. Cooley Law School.
Alexandra Vallee is a Member in the firm’s Troy office. She practices in all areas of health care law and represents a variety of health and behavioral health professionals and organizations. She advises clients on issues involving reimbursement, professional licensing, state and federal fraud and abuse laws, privacy and confidentiality rules and regulations, and the Medicare and Medicaid appeals process. She is a member of the American Bar Association, the State Bar of Michigan, and the American Health Lawyers Association. Ms. Vallee received her B.A. from the University of Michigan and her J.D. from Loyola University Chicago School of Law with a certificate in Health Law.
