Dickinson Wright PLLC is pleased to announce that Attorney Robert L. Schwartz has joined the firm’s Troy office as a Member. He joins the firm from Clark Hill PLC.
Mr. Schwartz’s principal areas of practice include public and corporate finance and securities, including bond counsel, underwriter’s counsel, borrower’s counsel, and bank’s counsel. He is recognized as one of the leading public finance attorneys in the State of Michigan, and has been involved in public finance transactions for over 35 years. He is also recognized as an expert with respect to federal tax aspects of municipal bonds. His clients have included a variety of Michigan municipalities and authorities, state agencies, investment banks, banks, and bond insurers in both public and private activity financings.
Mr. Schwartz is a member of the State Bar of Michigan and the National Association of Bond Lawyers. In public finance, he has been named as one of The Best Lawyers in America and to Super Lawyers as well as DBusiness Top Lawyers and Leading Lawyers by his peers, and is well-known and respected by all of the major participants in Michigan public finance transactions. Mr. Schwartz received his B.A. from The Johns Hopkins University, his J.D. from Wayne State University School of Law, and his LL.M. in taxation from New York University School of Law.
