Rachel Schaffer Lawson was recently quoted in the BevNet article, “The Legal Issues On Tap For Bev-Alc, Adult Non-Alc In 2025,” the article details the potential changes and updates to alcohol-related policies in the wake of the new presidential administration. Lawson particularly highlights the update to policies impacting alcohol advertising and the use of social media influencers. When expounding on the rules clarified by the TTB(Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau), she states, “ Brands are outsourcing a lot of work to third parties that work with these social media influencers that don’t have any experience in beverage and don’t understand the regulations involved.” Instead, Lawson advises brands to work with marketing companies that have experience with bev-alc brands and seek compensation for the supplier in the event of a violation.
