Dickinson Wright PLLC is pleased to announce that K. Lance Anderson (Member, Austin) and William Honaker (Member, Troy) have authored chapters in the American Bar Association’s Intellectual Property Deskbook for the Business Lawyer: A Transactions-Based Guide to Intellectual Property, Fourth Edition.
The Fourth Edition of the Intellectual Property Deskbook features 23 chapters, including 20 updated chapters and three new chapters on IP assignments; music licensing; and IP issues that arise in advertising. The edition is a practical “go-to” reference for general practitioners, business lawyers, and corporate counsel who need to quickly learn and understand the intellectual property issues that arise in various business contexts. Both Mr. Anderson and Mr. Honaker have been involved in the Intellectual Property Deskbook from earlier editions.
Lance Anderson, a Member in the firm’s Austin office, authored Chapter 17: Intellectual Property Issues with Research and Academic Institutions. He has extensive experience preparing and negotiating technology and intellectual property-focused transactions, as well as technology transfer and commercialization issues. Prior to going into private practice, Mr. Anderson directed a technology commercialization office at a public research university system before joining a venture capital company specializing in university spinouts.
William Honaker, a Member in the firm’s Troy office, authored Chapter 12: Intellectual Property and the Open-Innovation Movement. He has extensive knowledge and expertise in all aspects of patent, trademark, trade secret and copyright matters including litigation in a broad range of technologies/industries. Mr. Honaker is a highly sought after IP attorney in part due to his proprietary client communication and project management system, The Harmony System™.
