Dickinson Wright is pleased to announce that Kester So (Member, Lansing) has been named to Michigan Lawyers Weekly’s 2023 Hall of Fame.
Michigan Lawyers Weekly’s Hall of Fame recognizes Michigan legal leaders over the age of 60, or who have practiced for 30 years or more, for their successful careers and valuable contributions to the community. The Class of 2023 Hall of Fame will be profiled in a special section of the April 21st issue of Michigan Lawyers Weekly. “I am honored to be selected by Michigan Lawyers Weekly as a member of their 2023 Hall of Fame Class. This list is filled with such talented and accomplished attorneys,” said Kester.
Kester specializes in municipal finance, where he has served as bond counsel or underwriter’s counsel on a wide variety of bond issues, including bonds for health care, public power, higher education, student loan, transportation, housing, unemployment insurance, tax increment financing, state revolving fund, environmental, school bond loan fund, State and local building authorities, airports, water and sewer, solid waste disposal and economic and industrial development bonds. He served as bond counsel on a nearly $3 billion bond issue involving unemployment insurance that garnered National and Midwest Region Deal of the Year by the national publication The Bond Buyer, and recently served as underwriter’s counsel for Detroit blight removal bonds, which garnered Midwest Region Deal of the Year. He is recognized as a leader in his field by Best Lawyers in America and Michigan Super Lawyers. He was elected a Fellow of the American College of Bond Counsel and was named a “Leader in the Law” by Michigan Lawyers Weekly. Kester received his A.B. from the University of Michigan with high distinction and his J.D. from the University of California College of the Law, San Francisco.
