Dickinson Wright PLLC is pleased to announce the election of seven new member attorneys of the firm, effective January 1, 2022.
“Congratulations to this year’s class of new members on this well-deserved honor. Each attorney brings unique and valuable qualities, perspectives, and skills that they have developed throughout their legal career. We are honored and proud of their accomplishments and thrilled that they are now members,” says Michael Hammer, CEO of Dickinson Wright.
Below is Dickinson Wright’s new member attorneys for 2022:
Chelsea Canaday is a Member in the firm’s Columbus office. She provides legal services to educational entities, with a focus on employment and litigation matters. Chelsea works with administrators to address student and employee issues, and other organizational questions that may arise. Chelsea appears in state and federal courts, and in administrative proceedings. She has also argued appellate cases in front of the Sixth Circuit and state district courts. She is recognized as a leader in her field by Ohio Super Lawyers Rising Stars. Chelsea received her B.A. from the University of Pittsburgh and her J.D. from The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law.
Gregory Guest is a Member in the firm’s Grand Rapids office. He is a corporate attorney whose practice focuses on private, middle-market mergers and acquisitions. He has substantial experience with both financial and strategic transactions in the manufacturing, distribution, services, food and beverage, energy, technology, and healthcare sectors. He also serves as advisor and general counsel to entrepreneurs, investors, and closely-held businesses with respect to formation, governance, finance and restructuring, strategic planning, and general commercial and corporate matters. He is a member of the Association for Corporate Growth and the Turnaround Management Association. Greg received his B.A. from Lewis University and his J.D. from The John Marshall Law School.
Kathy Le is a Partner in the firm’s Toronto office. As a member of the firm’s business transactions group, her practice includes a variety of corporate and commercial matters with a focus on domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions, corporate structuring and restructuring, commercial agreements and corporate governance. She is a member of the Canadian Bar Association, the Ontario Bar Association, the Law Society of Upper Canada, Lawyers Associated Worldwide, and the Association for Corporate Growth. Kathy received her Bachelor of Commerce from Ryerson University and her J.D. from the University of Windsor.
Amanda Newman is a Member in the firm’s Phoenix office. She focuses her practice on commercial and business litigation with a particular emphasis on contract and ownership disputes. Amanda has represented public and private entities and business owners in litigation claims, business, contract formation, and general corporate and employment matters. She is recognized as a leader in her field by Best Lawyers in America “Ones to Watch”. Amanda received her B.A. from George Fox University and her J.D. from Arizona State University Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law.
Jonathan Nikkila is a Member in the firm’s Ann Arbor office. The primary focus of his practice involves intellectual property litigation where he has more than ten years of experience representing clients in complex patent, trademark, trade secret, and copyright matters. Jonathan’s IP litigation experience spans a number of different technological fields and includes practice in both federal and state courts throughout the country. Jonathan also regularly represents clients before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board and the International Trade Commission. Additionally, as a registered patent attorney, Jonathan prosecutes patent applications before the United States Patent and Trademark Office. Jonathan received a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry from the University of Michigan and a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Michigan Law School.
Shauna Norton is a Member in the firm’s Las Vegas office. She practices primarily in intellectual property law with a focus on establishing, protecting and defending copyright and trademark rights, both foreign and domestic, and on the Internet. Shauna has represented clients in trademark, copyright and domain name disputes, as well as in trademark opposition and cancellation proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board. She is a member of the International Trademark Association's Famous & Well-Known Marks Committee. Shauna received her B.A. and M.A. from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and her J.D. from the University of Nevada William S. Boyd School of Law.
William Vorys is a Member in the firm’s Columbus office. He focuses his practice primarily on government relations and administrative law, advocating public policy at the Ohio statehouse and assisting clients with regulatory compliance. Will also practices in the areas of energy and education law. Prior to joining Dickinson Wright, Will served in state government in the office of former Speaker of the Ohio House of Representatives William G. Batchelder. He is a member of the Columbus Bar Association and the Ohio State Bar Association. Will received his B.A. from Elon University and his J.D. from Capital University Law School.
