Rasika Kulkarni

Associate and Business Development Liaison, India Practice Group

Rasika Kulkarni is an associate in the firm’s Corporate and Securities practice group, and the business development liaison for the firm’s India practice group. 

Rasika’s role involves assisting both public and private companies on matters involving securities law (’33 and ’34 Act), corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, EDGAR filings for reporting companies, and legal compliances under the Investment Advisors Act, Dodd-Frank Act, and related SEC rules and regulations. Rasika frequently works on capital raising efforts for companies, including private equity fund formation, private placements under Regulation D, follow-on offerings, and initial public offerings.  Prior to joining Dickinson Wright, Rasika worked as an Equity Capital Markets Associate at a leading law firm in Mumbai. She has experience working on Indian Companies Act, Foreign Direct Investment Rules, and rules and regulations promulgated by the Securities and Exchange Board of India. 

As a business development liaison, Rasika focuses on growing the firm’s rapidly evolving India practice, by strategically combining her Indian legal exposure with the ample experience she gained in business development in India and the United Kingdom. With India being Rasika’s home for 25 years, she closely works with potential Indian businesses who wish to enter the American market, and similarly with American companies who wish to set up businesses in India.

  • Assisted a biopharmaceutical company focusing in next-generation cellular transport platforms in raising capital through the issuance of up to $5 million in convertible notes to two foreign investment funds.
  • Acted as underwriters’ counsel in the issuance of over $495 million in taxable General Revenue Bonds, Series 22022A, on behalf of the Board of Trustees of a prominent North American academic institution.
