Jill G. Murphy

Of Counsel

Jill Murphy is an attorney in Dickinson Wright’s Austin office. With a focus on commercial real estate, she provides counsel to developers, prospective purchasers, tenants, and property owners involved in a variety of transactions. Jill advises on leasing, disposition, acquisition, and financing of commercial properties. She counsels clients on title review, easement creation, loan document preparation, and investor funded development opportunities.

Jill’s deep understanding of real estate law is reflected in her role as Adjunct Professor at The University of Texas School of Law, where she teaches a course on Commercial Leasing. This position allows her to share her practical experience and insights with the next generation of legal professionals while further honing her skills in the field.

  • Outside real estate counsel for Texas based dessert delivery company and national fast-casual restaurant with 80+ locations

Acquisition and Disposition Representation:

  • 48-acre sale to national food service company for warehouse distribution center
  • 200-acre ranch sale to national homebuilder for development of single family residential neighborhood
  • Ground lease purchase and operation of multi-tenant hospitality property

Appellate Representation:

  • Represented Appellant in successful appeal of a Texas probate court’s ruling against applicant for failing to offer a decedent’s will as a muniment of title within four years of decedent’s death (Ramirez v. Galvan, No. 03-17-00101-CV, 2018 WL 454733 (Tex. App.—Austin Jan. 10, 2018, no pet.)
