Dan Ujczo (Of Counsel and Cross Border (Canada – U.S.) Practice Group Chair, Columbus) was quoted by Netsuite Brainyard, Netsuite’s online publication aimed at delivering real-world data and insights to their business customers. The article, titled “USMCA Approved In Mexico, U.S., Imminent in Canada. Now the Hard Work Begins” advises companies and CFOs to pay close attention to certain aspects of the agreement.
“Nearly 60% of the USMCA is the same language as in NAFTA or other existing trade deals, with a bit of a fresh, 21st-century look,” Dan told the publication. “Companies should review the agreement in areas such as chemicals, polymers, coatings and food/agriculture, which have added new color to facilitate the tariff-free movement of goods in those sectors.”
