Las Vegas Lawyer Jeffrey Silver was quoted in the Las Vegas Review-Journal article titled “Special License for Temporary Las Vegas Casino OK’d”.
The article discusses the approval for a Las Vegas tavern to set up a temporary slot operation inside a trailer in front of the location which was under construction in order to preserve the property’s gaming license. Mr. Silver worked to get the Nevada Gaming Control Board, the Nevada Gaming Commission and the City of Las Vegas to approve the item on an emergency basis after the sub lessor and others misinterpreted the expiration deadline for this nonconforming license.
“Whenever I see the words ‘special meeting agenda,’ I’m thinking we’re saving the jobs of 5,000 people for a non-restricted location, and I’ve never had the occasion to see one in connection with saving a restricted grandfathered (license),” said Mr. Silver. “The ask has certainly been monumental in this particular instance.”
