Attorney Kevin Shimp Joins Dickinson Wright Government Relations Group

Dickinson Wright has strengthened the Firm’s Government Relations Practice Group with the addition of Kevin Shimp as Associate Attorney.
Prior to joining Dickinson, Kevin served as General Counsel at the Ohio Chamber of Commerce, where he lobbied in the areas of civil justice, insurance, financial institutions, workers’ compensation, healthcare, and labor & employment policy. He also oversaw the Chamber’s amicus brief practice. In his new role, Kevin will continue to represent the Ohio Chamber on those issues at the statehouse as outside counsel.

With ten years of experience as a lobbyist, political consultant, and legislative aide, Kevin is well-positioned to help our clients advocate on public policy issues important to them.”

Previously, Kevin was a Campaign Manager and Political Director for the Ohio Republican Senate Campaign Committee and served as Senior Legislative Aide for the Chairman of the Ohio Senate Insurance & Financial Institutions Committee.
Kevin was named a Best Lawyer in Government Relations by Columbus CEO magazine in 2022. In 2020, he was appointed by Governor Mike DeWine to serve as an employer representative to the Ohio Industrial Commission Nominating Council. He is an active member of the Ohio State Bar Association, serving as a member of the Certified Grievance Committee and a Board Member for the Ohio Center for Law Related Education.
Kevin is a graduate of Ohio State University and Capital University Law School. He resides in Columbus with his wife Sarah.
