Join Dickinson Wright Lawyer Trevor Whiffen for the PrimeTime 2016 Sports Management Conference on November 13-15, 2016 at the Westin Harbour Castle Hotel in Toronto. Mr. Whiffen is once again co-chairing this event alongside Brian Burke, President of Hockey Operations for the NHL’s Calgary Flames.
Along with being co-chair, Mr. Whiffen will moderate the panel “Legal Issues Affecting Leagues, Teams and Players.” The panel will feature Eric Macramalla, Legal Analyst for TSN Radio; Ritch Winter, Certified NHL Player Agent, Wintersports Ltd. Also invited to join the panel are Jessica Berman, Vice President, Special Projects & Corporate Social Responsibility for the National Hockey League; Rick Horrow, CEO of Horrow Sports Ventures and Host of “Beyond the Medals: The Business of Sport” featured on NBC Universal Sports; and Matthew Shuber, Vice President, Business Affairs and Legal Counsel for the Toronto Blue Jays.
The PrimeTime 2016 Sports Management Conference will feature top executives from across all major sports in North America, including hockey, football, baseball, basketball, soccer, lacrosse, motorsports, track and field and mixed martial arts. The conference will deal with current issues involving the operation of sports leagues, creative marketing strategies, attracting new television properties and viewers. The goal of the conference is to provide members of the sports industry with an opportunity to work with and learn from leading industry experts regarding the representation of athletes and the challenges of operating professional teams, leagues, facilities and media outlets.
